  Nice video and song Talesin. I don't think there is any one reason. Heaven hit on one of them. Maybe the majority of the human race is insane. Look how we go about killing each other in wars. Whatever the reasons we can all take small steps to make this planet a better place for all life forms.

  Hey Designs, That event in San Clemente sounds pretty cool. I'd like to hear Ed Begley Jr speak. I'll see if I can make it. It is something my wife would even like to go to. I've got a DVD with Ed Begley Jr on it "Farm to Fridge". Quite the eye opener on the abuses the animals we eat go through. It is available to watch online at: http://meatvideo.com/ I don't recommend watching it at dinner time.

  you see, i moved to la from san francisco.

  i always said by the time i am in my 30's i'd be living somewhere warmer, and that i did.

  I dont beleive in the christian veiw of God , are their alternatives ? Other than Judaism , Islam ,or other popular Gods in the world today ?

  while i discard the notion of god as described in the bible ,and which would also include the islamic and judean religions as they have similar roots ,i do concede their are things i do not know , that occur,which i cant explain , whether they be attributed to the paranormal ,ufo`s ,ghosts ,phsysic phenomena ,poltergeists ,or whatever .it is well attested their are occurences which defy explanation .. we know as human beings we are born and we die in the flesh .. what if their was some truth in the scripture" you will be all changed in a twinkling of an eye" going from a fleshly creature to a spiritual creature ?

  i find their are part truths, half truths ,truths of ommission , old truths ,new truths , and truths that are yet to be revealed .with the wtb&ts.

  so is their a possibility of our continuing on in a spiritual existence ?

  I'm really not sure why. There were so many reasons. Some of them weren't fully developed yet but were simmering in the back of my mind for years before I walked out. I think I left mentally at least several years before I actually threw in the towel.

  There were things they taught that no longer made sense to me but that was only part of it. I was tired of bothering my neighbors on Saturday mornings with beliefs that were begining to seem old and stale. I wanted to go to the beach and enjoy nature on Saturday mornings. On Sundays I wanted to go for a run, relax and read a newspaper. Anything but to to the Kingdom Hall.

  I wanted to celebrate the holidays and share in the joy others were having instead of always being a freak for what I felt was no good reason.

  I could go on about haircuts, beards, reading books rather than WT publication and a zillion other things but I short I think I just felt trapped. I couldn't take it anymore and remain sane so I left and never went back. I have never regretted my decision.

  when officers wanted someone to shave them, they trusted a witness with the razor, because they knew that no witness would ever use such an instrument as a weapon to harm another human.. .

  when ss officers at the auschwits extermination camp needed someone to clean their homes or care for their children, they selected witnesses, because they knew these would not try to escape.. .

  Let's remember that Rutherford only took a stand against Hitler when sucking up to the Nazis didn't work and he took it the other side of the Atlantic under the protection of the United States. I believe it would have been totally different for the Witnesses in Germany if the Watchtower headquarters had been located there. Rutherford would have caved in under pressure as he did with the WW1 issue.

  Quentin (from JW-net) is dying

  quentin robburts has been on jw-net off and on for over 6 years and he is one of my oldest and most loyal friends.. his wife called me awhile ago and gave me the news.. quentin was rushed to the hospital's emergency room with acute renal failure and congestive heart failure.. .

  this does not surprise me for the following reason.

  his pain doctor put him on oxycontin last thursday.

  I'm glad I read down far enough to see he is doing better. This is the first time I've seen his story. Very interesting. Amazing the amount of nonsense Jdubs put up with. Thanks for posting it Terry.
